Botox Specialist

Your face is the first thing people notice about you. So having fine lines and wrinkles around your eyes and mouth isn’t something you want others to focus on. Botox® injections work by temporarily paralyzing certain muscles or nerves, depending on the location. Once these areas loosen up and relax, you’re left with nothing but smooth, younger looking skin. Dr. Chanda A. Griessel of Triad Ophthalmic Physicians, PLLC is your go-to, Board Certified, cosmetic specialist in the Winston-Salem, North Carolina area. Her caring team gets your skin back to it’s youthful appearance. Call to make an appointment or consultation today.

Botox Q & A

Needles make me nervous. Are Botox injections painful?

If just the thought of a needle makes you cringe, don’t be discouraged from getting Botox injections. Unlike many painful vaccination and numbing needles, Botox injections use very fine needles. While you may feel a slight sting or pinch initially, you’ll be happy with how little pain you actually feel. But if you’re highly sensitive or nervous about needle pain, Dr. Griessel numbs the area with a topical cream, or even ice, before starting your injections.

How soon will I see results after Botox?

You’ll be surprised at how quickly Botox injections start minimizing the impurities in your skin. Many people report seeing a reduction in wrinkles in as little as 24-48 hours after their Botox injections. If your wrinkles are fine, your results could surface even sooner.

Do I need more than 1 set of Botox injections?

Probably yes. While Botox can knock years off your face in as little as a couple days, the results aren’t permanent. Your youthful smooth skin can last up to 4 months, although your results could vary. Talk with Dr. Griessel during your appointment to determine how long your Botox treatment will last. You might need more frequent appointments if your lines are deeper or more severe; although if you have fine wrinkles, you may only need injections for maintenance 3-4 times per year.

How many Botox injections will I need at each visit?

It depends on the area. For crow’s feet for instance, Dr. Griessel usually administers 3 injections in the muscle that surrounds each eye — so 6 injections total. If you’re looking to nix those unsightly frown lines in your forehead, you’ll probably need 5 total injections at each visit.

My schedule is packed. How long should I expect to spend at each appointment?

No matter which treatment you need, or if you’re treating multiple areas, most appointments take about 10-20 minutes. You’ll be in and out of the office during your lunch break.
